combat veteran of WWII in N. Africa, Italy & Germany, had
grown up having to hunt and fish for his family if they
wanted to eat. Letting a NAZI dictator disarm them and lead
them by the nose into combat with boys who had been shooting
all their lives was not really smart.
Daddy could not stand the NAZI officers. He felt some degree
of sympathy for the ordinary German boys who really didn’t
want to be at war; but they were shooting at him AND he
shot back. - The NAZIS treated their own soldiers like dirt.
A NAZI officer had shot his CO in the neck even AFTER he
had already had his leg blown off with a machine gun.
Stole his captain’s cigarettes and shot him in the neck.
