First night out, we camped at the bottom of Mariscal -- at the base of sheer 1200 ft cliffs.

'Think it was '84 when I was there.

Trump's wall will need to be moved back north a bit, although nobody's coming over those cliffs! Although, maybe for illegals, there are "Cliff Notes". ;)

'Think it was '84 when I was there.

What a spectacular place. We made the trip during Spring break -- touched 100 during the day and we had a couple of frosts overnight.

The desert was in bloom -- the yucca and the various cacti. The bluebonnets were as big as roses...and you could smell them from 50 feet away.

But all else paled compared to the Palo Verde trees -- they looked like fluffy clouds from all the blooms. And they perfumed the air for 100 yards in every direction.
