Although the death of a human being is rarely cause for celebration, it is the symbolic death of the destructive ideologies that he espoused that, I believe, is filling the Cuban exile community with renewed hope and a relief that has been long in coming. And although the grip of Castro's regime will not loosen overnight, the demise of a leader that oversaw the annihilation of those with an opposing view, the indiscriminate jailing of innocents, the separation of families, the censure of his people's freedom to speak, state sanctioned terrorism and the economic destruction of a once thriving & successful country, can only lead to positive change for the Cuban people and our world. May freedom continue to ring in the United States, my beautiful adopted country, and may the hope for freedom be inspired and renewed in the heart of every Cuban in my homeland and throughout the world.

Uh, I think all she cares about is traveling amd remaining in elite circles and selling records and having her husband produce pop and latin records to make millions more. Being in the entertainment business as they are, they can’t help but be hypocrites, especially amongst their “lefty” friends. Estefan fled Cuba with her family when Communist dictator Fidel Castro rose to power. Her father, Jos˜O Manuel Fajardo, had been a Cuban soldier and bodyguard of President Fulgencio Batista.
After coming to the United States, the elder Fajardo was recruited into the 2506 Brigade, a CIA-funded band of Cuban refugees that was involved in the unsuccessful 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion.
After President John F. Kennedy negotiated the release of the captured soldiers, Fajardo rejoined his family. He eventually joined the U.S. Army and served for two years in Vietnam.

And Cuba’s Damas de Blanco march every week in Cuba insolidarity for their husbands, fathers, brothers, or sons that are held inside the prison as political prisoners. They are taunted and often attacked by state led or state tolerated mobs.
