No you are the mistaken one. It will happen as soon as those idiots wearing smart watches let them gather enough data.
As far as cost go, it doesn't matter why they are out of reach of the customer, fact is they are. Insurance is merely a prepaid health care service that depends on people buying insurance that don't really use the service they pay for. In other words a subsidy. Businesses that depend on a subsidy are not sustainable.
Health care is doomed as we know it, no matter what Trump or anyone else does.
A robot could only diagnose disease that is straightforward. Diseases like diabetes.
I have seen patients come in with an accurate diagnosis, because they looked it up on a online site. However, those sites give you a range of diagnosis, which can be inaccurate.
A robot cannot diagnose disease that requires evaluation, looking and talking with the patient. Diseases like a neurologic issue.
Can a robot give an intraarticular injection? Can they do an LP?
Do you want a robot to inject your cervical disc? A mistake, and your paralyzed?
Personally, having robots be the front line would be cool. It would weed out the PITA patients. You can scream and yell at a robot, they wont care. They won’t care about your personal issues that make you unique. They wont have to worry about patient satisfaction scores. It would weed out the worried well.
If you want 2 weeks off from work because of a injury, the robot could refuse because for that particular disease process the robot is prrogrammed for, you only get 3 days off.
It would be great! But it is never going to happen.
I only hope that Trump dismantle the regulations that is drowning healthcare. Then, you will see costs decrease.
