Dak Prescott is right on time — for Dallas and for America (Semi-barf)
The Undefeated ^ | November 24, 2016 | Jason Reid

Posted on 11/25/2016 4:26:58 AM PST by MuttTheHoople

The new face of America’s Team is a biracial, tatted-up, whip-smart, unflappable 23-year-old, who in about the time it takes to open the roof at AT&T Stadium went from being a let’s-see-what-the-unheralded-rook-can-do emergency starter to The Man on the NFL’s hottest club. Prescott’s stunning rise (remember, dude was a fourth-round pick whom the Cowboys backed into) has been the talk of the league – and the conversation hasn’t been confined to his success on the field. To even the non-woke, it’s obvious that the Cowboys are in a new place. That means the rest of the NFL is, too.

I also have to give a shout out to Tony Romo and say I feel sorry for him.

So do I! I have been a Cowboy fan since the days of Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. Many fans were frustrated with Tony, not only because he seemed to be made of glass, but because he would throw an interception at the most critical times. We saw what happened last year without him and without a capable back up! My beef is more often with Jason Garrett who, if the owner had been anyone other than "I will never admit I made a mistake" Jerry Jones, would have been fired by now. Tony's ability to improvise and make something out of Jason Garrett's terrible play-calling and clock management enabled them to win many games they would have lost.

My dream scenario would be for the Cowboys to make it to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1996 and for Dak to start the game as he deserves to do. Once the Cowboys are in the lead, Dak has a slight injury that keeps him from returning to the game. Tony comes in and wins the Super Bowl and retires as a Cowboy after the game - just as Peyton did last year.

One of my last wishes is to have Tony Romo as one of my pallbearers at my funeral.

I just want want him to let me down one last time.

Dak showed me some greatness in the Philadelphia Eagle game. That was Dak's worst...and best game. Their defense had him befuddled all day, and for three quarters it was the only time he ever looked like a Rookie (to be fair, on some days the Eagle defense can make Tom Brady look like a rookie).

However, he fought through it, overcame a 2 score deficit to force it into overtime, then won it on a pass to Jason Witten.

One of the reasons he's so mature and level-headed is that he went to The Mississippi State University for five years....No 3 and out and barely going to Interdisciplinary Studies classes for him. He has a degree in Information Systems, and a Masters in Workforce Education Leadership. He used his scholarship to get the full college experience.

The only thing that gives me pause, is that he wears bow-ties. He looks a lot like a Nation Of Islam when he does that. However, the reason he wears them is because he likes the look, and made friends with George Sherman, who owns George Sherman Clothiers in Starkvegas. He wanted to look good for the Dawg walk on Game Day, so he went and bought one. Liked it so much that he now has 50 from him.

It’s a game. Fun to watch sometimes but still a child’s game.

As a fellow MSU alum (class of ‘77) I hope you can forgive Mutt’s enthusiasm. The plain, simple truth is that while we’ve had numerous linemen, receivers, etc., Dak is our first QB to make it to the Big Show. When you’re surrounded by SEC schools famous for their quarterbacks like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, even Ole Miss, recruiting for a QB is a hard row to hoe down here. So please forgive me and my fellow Dawgs if we overdo the pride we feel for not only a excellent ball player, but a hell of a nice guy, too. If only it wasn’t the Cowboys...

> I just finished the article, linked from Drudge. It's about 70% good read, but yes, somehow a 10-1 team kicking butt has to be turned into a black "thing" because the QB is bi-racial.

I guess white receivers like Beasley and Whitten and a huge front line with three gigantic whitw guys (and 2 black guys) who keep him from getting sacked most of the time have nothing at all to do with Dak's success then...

It takes the whole team to make that magic happen...Dak is good about converting 3rd and long into 1st downs though because he can run when there's no one open. And he's been good about keeping the balls on target with I think only one Interception the whole season. Good stuff.

That makes it a perfect match with the people who watch it all the time.

Articles like this are the reason I do not visit ESPN’s website or watch their programming anymore. Between their social justice propaganda and the force feeding of soccer to us, I’m disgusted with them.
Dak is a good rookie QB. He’s showed great poise and great play.
His race is irrelevant to me.

At least Dak doesn’t seem to be a prima donna jackass... yet.

Refreshing to see someone handle himself so well. This guy is for real...

No peacock outfits, hat tilted sideways.....

Compare him to trash talking Josh Norman

Lifelong Cowboys fan.... Go Dak.... Also feel sorry for Tony, but a ring any way he can get one would be fitting at this point as I too fear that he’s one more hit away from a permanent injury affecting him long after his career....

For the record, Dak Prescott is quite possibly the Greatest Quarterback in NFL history.

Less that two-thirds of a season under his belt and he's the greatest quarterback in NFL history? Spoken like a true goddam Dallas Cowboy's fan.

Of course the article has the obligatory shot at Trump in it.
“America has become a lot scarier for blacks in the last few weeks.”
Barf.

Like the song, ya gotta know when to fold em, Romo should just retire after The Boys win the super bowl. I say this as a Cowboy hater too! Seriously, I just don’t see anyone beating them and with a nice guy leading them, what’s not to like!

Yep - Dak is turning out to be exceptional - too bad some want to tarnish it by bringing race instead of personal accomplishment into it. If the BLM thugs aren’t deemed to be putting Blacks in the gutter, then an exceptional athlete shouldn’t be seen as elevating Blacks to higher levels - he elevates himself and they remain where they are.

Hahahahahaha!!!!! That’s so funny.

The Cowboys have benefitted from a relatively easy schedule. I expect Cinderella will come crashing back to reality in the playoffs.

It’s too bad this dipsh!t writer had to inject race into this story. Dak is a great QB and person in his own right.

Wow ten wins impressive. Lol I think I’ll wait till he wins a single playoff game before I crown him greatest of all time. And Brett favres 14 playoff wins is easily surpassed by Tom Brady’s 22 playoff wins
