Top Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway said she is receiving a deluge of comments about the possibility of Mitt Romney being selected as secretary of State.

"Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney," Conway said, linking to a story about Trump loyalists who are unhappy with the possibility.

She also stressed loyalty as a key trait for a secretary of State in a follow-up tweet.

The Washington Post's glowing endorsement of Romney is all you need to know about the wisdom of this choice for Secretary of State.

If Trump’s smart, he’ll pick Mitt Romney ^

Disappointed with both Trump and presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as the choices for president, the 2012 GOP standard-bearer might vote for a candidate from an entirely different party in November, telling Blitzer:

“If [Libertarian vice presidential nominee and former Massachusetts governor] Bill Weld were at the top of the ticket, it would be very easy for me to vote for Bill Weld for president.

So I'll get to know Gary Johnson better and see if he's someone who I could end up voting for. That's something which I'll evaluate over the coming weeks and months.”

He added that should he not vote for the Johnson/Weld ticket, he would likely write in a Republican (name to be determined), as he still has no plans on voting for either Trump or Clinton.

He's a snake. A vicious snake.

That is your opinion and I respect it...but in MY opinion she certainly is...

She didn't elect Trump to where he is, WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DID...don't ever forget that...She might have been there, but who brought on Reince ??? And she has been a ‘pollster’ that is her business...

Trump can do what he wants, he certainly knows more about things than any of us do, and I don't mistrust his judgment but I will not ‘stand down’ when I see someone or something that doesn't look or feel right...and as I said:

“I DIDN'T WORK MY BUTT OFF TO HAVE ROMNEY OR ANY OTHER NEOCON IN THIS GOVERNMENT”...and I did send that to Trump so he knows where this American Citizen stands...as all of us should do!!!

I wonder if Trump needs to throw the #neverTrumps a bone in order to smooth senate confirmation hearings for all the rest of his picks. Maybe he knows the committees are lining up against him and this is their price for confirming.

I’m sure he hates the idea, so there must be some strategic reason for it if it happens.

If Trump truly wants to “drain the swamp”, there are some departments like epa, education, where it’s important to get secretaries that are basically averse to the whole department agenda - to really fire half the people, de-fang the department, to reduce the size and role of the various over reaching departments.

True, the State Department has been corrupt too, but that is because the Obama administration has condoned it. I don’t think there’s much chance of Romney doing any damage there or impeding the draining of the swamp. The worst part of Romney as SOS isn’t what he would do or not do, more just the symbolism of rewarding a nasty backstabbing a-hole with a coveted position.

If Trump appoints Romney for SOS, I’ll be disappointed, but I trust Trump wouldn’t do it unless it was for some reason like that.

FRAUD NARRATIVE : Hillary won the popular vote.

Democrats keep shooting baskets after everyone has left. That means nothing.

Selective counting wins nothing because only the final complete count matters, which is not done because only a tie vote is it performed.

Post election, selective counting is FRAUD.

When a Dem tells you they won the popular vote,
that is mathematical illiteracy, a fraudulant lie so
that parrots will repeat the false propaganda narrative.

The false narrative is always pre set. Next they find parrots.

If loyalty is key, its a two way street. Giuliani has been beyond loyal and stood there, back to back, thick and thin, fighting thru all the crap.. Additionally, he announced in public his desire to have State. Leaving him to twist while the one who tried to destroy us all is taken seriously is, in my view, a significant breach of loyalty both to him and to us.

“The Secretary of State position is not a free agent. He serves at the pleasure of the president”

There in lies the problem. Would Mitt serve at the pleasure of Trump or go ad hoc with his own views?

Not if Mitt wants to keep the job.

Give me a real example(s) where an under count of about 6,000,000 votes has occurred and I'll take a look. That is what it would take assuming a Trump percentage of 66% (surely optimistic). But otherwise, currently, Hillary has over 2,000,000 more counted votes than Trump.

Why would I choose to be ignorant of this? I see the posts claiming otherwise, but I have never seen the evidence of this gigantic under count which would requires to overcome Hillary's 2,000,000 vote lead currently.

Reality: Trump won in a landslide with 306 Electoral College Votes. Trump did this in spite of Hillary garnering more votes than Trump.

Change my mind with facts please, and not just bluster.

people like me did not want Trump as a candidate...but he grew on us....people like me knew that he was not a pure republican or pure conservative or even much of a conservative....

so be it....

he drew us in with his message, his delivery, his passion....

so I say I don't care who he picks....we have to trust him...I do....

if Romney is in the mix, that's fine with me....

sometimes the more outside the box choices are the best choices...

let Trump be Trump....

Trump’s gonna have to fire SOMEBODY in the early months
= = = = = = = = = = =
I think he got that point across by ‘removing’ Christie and his Lobbyist buddies....

He has hired a couple of other ‘non Trump types’ some more vocal than others...

Haley for one BUT maybe the plan is to pay for the UN to move to Zimbabwe or something like that and give the SofS a ‘permanent’ office in Bahgdad and tell both Romney & Haley to dust up on their SKYPE and twitter and messaging skills to communicate with US.....

Well said.

What is the mechanism for ‘undercount’? Math error? Felony vote tampering? Is the term being confused with undervote?

“Like Trump said repeatedly, until he got in the race, he was as establishment as anybody.”

You are taking Trump’s statements out of context and coming to the wrong conclusion.

When Trump has confessed to being ‘as establishment as anyone’, or ‘the ultimate insider’, he is saying that AS A BUSINESSMAN he sought access to politicians and bought influence. His point was that he was well familiar with what goes on, and how corrupt Washington DC is.

However, it is not corrupt for businessmen to lobby and attempt to buy politicians, it is corrupt for the politicians to be bought. The difference is night and day. He is not admitting to having been corrupt in the past he is saying he knows what goes on because he’s been there.

There is nothing in Trump’s words or actions so far to suggest Trump was or is pro establishment or pro insider, and to suggest otherwise is disingenuous.
