I’m not sure what Common Core was supposed to be or started out as, but apparently its current incarnation is a mess.
I’m not opposed to some kind of standard ability expectation by age/grade for students. It doesn’t need to get too far down in the weeds, however.
The Common Core Standards include fairly reasonable lists of grade level goals.
The insanity of the enforced curricula created or revamped to interpret those lists, and the data wildly extrapolated from the results is...beyond measure.
I don’t want top down education in any form. I want local control.
