Undeterred, DeVos pursued expansion of vouchers by founding an organization called American Federation of Children. The AFC seeks, according to its mission statement, “to improve our nation’s K-12 education by advancing systemic and sustainable public policy that empowers parents, particularly those in low-income families.”

She and her husband own a company focused on clean energy too. Just so all FR haters can get revved up in advance. Who cares.
This can help accomplish two things. First, this is keeping a promise to black voters to offer better education in black neighborhoods. Second, by moving students to charter schools it will reduce the power of teachers unions.
