I thought the same thing about Mitt Romney for potential SoS:
1) A gracious olive branch optic.
2) Shuts him up.
3) Keeps him WAY busy ...
4) Keeps him out of the country a heck of lot, not to cause trouble.
5) Buries the #NeverTrump people in 2018 and 2020

The idea of Romney being chosen for Secretary of State bothers me. I remember his debate performances. He is not really a stand-up guy.

Sadly, SOS is the Third Highest Office in the U.S. and places him Third in line to assume the office of President, should the unimaginable happen!
I would never assume Mitt would "carry the wishes of the President to foreign nations!"
