It's a way to fire Haley.
Trump HATES the U.N.
Not only does this put her in a position of utter disrespect within the new administration, Trump gets his man as the new governor.
It isn't possible in our federal system for a president-elect to fire a governor, but Trump just did, in a perfectly legit way.
The sad part is the people on his own side who don't see the beauty of it all.
To: Syncro; All
People, this is a win.
It shuffles off a prominent RINO into a useless sinecure, and replaces her as Gov of SC with one of Trump’s earliest supporters.

“For a position nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate, it seems singularly unimpressive. There are some impressive intellectuals with great minds, but thats just about it. Other than 19711973 George H. W. Bush, none of them have gone on to a significantly higher role in government.”
Good point. From the point of view of realpolitik, I think this would be a good pick. If true.

With an added bonus of appointing an American of Indian descent to a very visible position, thus further solidifying that piece of the base.

GOPe is almost as bad as rat. Maybe even worse. Think forward a few chess moves and this puts SC firmly in loyalist hands.

You may be right. I recall when Nimrata went after the battle flag, Romney jumped in to support her. I thought how odd that he would get involved and take a stand against our history.
If Trump thought it was important to get the support of those from India, he surely could have found somebody more competent and pro-American.

And if she is kicked upstairs, she leaves a Trump loyalist and someone who is apparently more competent in her wake.

I'm not going to agonize over this. The U.N. is a good place to dump a double-minority to quell the "diversity" freaks in both parties and the media.
She will be kept on a short leash....and I see no overwhelming danger here.
While she's not my cup of tea in any way, I think this was a good chess move by Mr. Trump and his advisors.
Secretary of State is what is really a matter of concern to me.

EIther way it worked. If Trump gives Haley great direction and Haley follows through like Kirkpatrick then I will be very happy!

Nikki was a GOPe RINO big-time. I donated to her campaign as a Tea Party candidate, and she has been a yuge disappointment. There is a lot of that going around. Sen. Kelly Ayotte comes to mind.

empowering will succeed Trump one day
LOL. A former UN ambassador will never win the republican nomination.
A former SC governor without a job would be much more likely to win it.
She’s ineligible. She was born here, but her parents are goobers from India, non-citizens.

Yes it does.
Also, have you noticed the chess-playing team of President-elect Trump has nominated a genuine Indian to a top Government post. Not a Fauxcahontas!
To: Helicondelta
Yes, Trump is proving to be quite adept at political maneuvering.

Scott Brown was also in that bag of discusting RINO’s. I don’t want Scott anywhere around the Veteran Affairs. I think he’s all show and not a person that actually gets anything done. Just my two cents.
