Lots of trashy people in Alaska. A place to hide from the law. The first thing that boarding parties from the Coast Guard check, when enforcing Fisheries Laws, is if any of the crew members have outstanding warrants. Sad but true.

“Lots of trashy people in Alaska”

There’s been quite a few people that have relocated to my area of New Mexico from Alaska. I hate to say it, but I’ve gotten to where I have about as much enthusiasm to interact with them as I do with a northeastern libtard, which is right about zero.

I lived in Anchorage for 4 yrs....spent 8 winters there....

Yup, lots of people go to Alaska to run away from their past. Last frontier for sure.

While I hated the weather, the city itself was a pretty cool place on balance.

Lived here for 15 years. I heard that if you move to AK you are either running from your family or running from the law. Like anywhere else you see the worst and some of the best of people. AK is an entitlement state despite all the claims of hardy frontier people. With the easy free money called “permafund dividend” and super generous welfare benefits it attracts a lot of losers from Washington and Oregon. Anchorage is the worst big city and the villages are microcosms of Anchorage.
