WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump will not derail progress made in fighting climate change and creating clean-energy jobs, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency insisted on Monday in arguing "the inevitability of our clean energy future is bigger than any one person or nation."

EPA chief Gina McCarthy said the world is "in a spectacularly different place today than we were when President (Barack) Obama took office," citing new environmental rules and actions to help create thousands of jobs in renewable energy such as wind and solar power.

frankly I would rather see her as Sec. of the Interior

Gov. Fallon of Oklahoma was rumored to be under consideration for that job. No mention of Sarah, that I have heard, by the Trump people that may have a say in the matter. Be a shame if he finds nothing for her.

No, we have zero need to prove any such thing.
One hundred percent of the things done by the EPA which are actually needed duplicate things done by state agencies.
It is in every way redundant.

I would say air pollution an is a national problem. Other than that you’d be right. The EPA has cleaned up the air. Since I was a kid in the 60’s it is night and day. But they have grown onto a maniacal beast. Just go back to clean air and water and nix everything else they are into like “climate change”.

With apologies to Ms. Cartman...,

You have to lick a lot of carpet if you want to head the EPA...

A native of Boston, in 1976 McCarthy graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston as a Bachelor of Arts in Social Anthropology. She later attended Tufts University, and from there she gained the further degree of Master of Science in Environmental Health Engineering and Planning and Policy in 1981.

B.A. in Social Anthropology; now that makes her an expert in globull warming!

“McCarthy also hailed a clean water rule imposed by Obama... All have been targeted by Trump... but McCarthy said she is confident they will withstand legal challenges...”

There will not be any legal challenges. They will be un-imposed by Trump.

Why are all these politicians, unelected in her case, claiming they have the power to overrule Trump?

I just love hearing Progressives talk about all the things Trump can’t do!

Yeah, and to think the first thing they declared was that Trump would not win the nomination.

Then, no less than Obama declared Trump would never be President.

There was no progress under Obama. Only a deepening of destructive ways and means. There is nothing good so the statement is correct.

Animas river in CO and a million gallons of toxic waste thanks to this b***h and the EPA.
I think AG Jeff Sessions might want to take a look at her and her band of goons.

Put Sara Palin in charge, make sure she has sufficient staff to review all regulations, findings, pseudo scientific reports, and court actions.
She can immediately scrap all the garbage, cut all the funding to the pseudo scientists, roll back the EPA budget and get the offices ready for closure. Then on to the Department of the Interior.

The air got where it needed to be by about seventy-eight, judging by my drives through Ponca City and other refinery towns. Those standards are something the state’s can maintain, and I don’t see any likelihood of any municipalities not maintaining at least those standards today.

Again, it is not a task that requires the federal government or else it won’t happen.

AIr pollution is regional and crosses state boundaries. And in 1978 the air was still brown.

But for the most part I agree the air pollution war has been won and states can do most things but not everything.
