Not that the media isn’t filled with Democrat shills. It is. The so-called “news” media is run by pinkos and they twist the news every day to hurt America.
I get that, and Trump is certainly well within his rights to say so.
But for a President elect to call in a score of journalists and then excoriate them for being opposed to him would be petulant and childish. Not to mention considerably less than “presidential” (whatever that means) and deleterious to the existence of a free press.
If Donald can cite some actual truths, not just opinions, and hold the press critically up against that... he’s done exactly the right thing.
You’re a moron. Every post of yours is a misleading, half truth. I suggest that you GTF back to DU and leave this site a little cleaner than it was before you came.
I did read your post correctly, thus my response..
Trump said, during the primary, that the laws needed to be changed so that the press could be held accountable for their lies.
This was hardly a court of law, but the reports indicate that what he said during the meeting was consistent with with those views.
I’ll bet he also warned them of the Trump WH investigating possible legal action in the future if the lying continues.
That’s what makes horse races. I think it was perfect. He trolled them once again and eventually it will sink in that if they don’t make an effort to report honestly they are going to get egg on their faces publicly.
How else do you get through to people that have sunk as low as the press? You sound like a liberal parent who “fixes” everything with a good talk, and nothing changes. Sometimes the woodshed is called for.
KNOCK OFF THE DAMN SPAMMING!
“But for a President elect to call in a score of journalists and then excoriate them for being opposed to him would be petulant and childish.”
See, there’s your whole problem right there, Neb.
Trump didn’t call them in to excoriate them for being opposed to him. He called them in to excoriate them for being liars when their duty is to inform the populace with the unvarnished truth.
So, nice try, no cigar.
You're a piddling little nothing of a nobody, who wait YEARS before getting up enough courage to post here. Why not just go back to "lurking"? *snicker*
You don't really think this was Donald Trump being petulant because they oppose him do you? Donald Trump was delivering the first salvo against the fifth column of the fourth estate in his battle to MAGA. You need to wake up and get with the program, lest you be seen as the enemy pariah you are already suspected to be.
The article says he excoriated them for lying, not for opposing him. It is not petulant or childish to call liars liars. It is a manly thing to do which explains why other republicans have failed to do so.
So ya think Trump is out of line for reading the lying collusive corrupt media the riot act? Really?
I can't believe someone on this site made this statement. Ya sound like Hillary Clinton.
I respect Trump for directly confronting them.
You don’t seem to understand. The media’s bias is not just some silly habit or “aw shucks there they go again” situation. Their insidious actions, lies, cover ups (etc) have actively destroyed a large part of our American fabric. The rule of law. Civilization.
We hired trump to fight back. God bless this man! He is exactly who we needed in this desperate hour.
You kind of have a point on this, Ben, but Trump didn’t do this because they were opposed to him, he did it because they were LYING about him and NOT BEING PROFESSIONAL journalists. One might say the media were the petulant and childish ones it in the spin, manipulation and deceit throughout their coverage.
And maybe it wouldn’t be “presidential” for President Trump to do this, but I think it totally appropriate for the President-elect to sit the unruly skunks down and set stage and set the ground rules for his future administration, since they are flailing around so with how to do their jobs with this new type of politician.
