Yep, of course you do need evidence that a crime had been committed which was lacking in the Franklin Conspiracy case. Not to mention that it helps to have prosecution witnesses who aren’t found guilty of perjury.
Funny how the guy who wrote the book that drove the case had been victimized by false accusations that wrecked his political career. And oddly enough the people that he accused of being involved in the Franklin Conspiracy were the very ones who had once falsely accused him.
