Great news, but in French elections, a plurality in the first round doesn't win the Presidency. In the second round, Left-wing parties no doubt Sarkozy, who will probably win on account of the coalition.

The consolation is that Sarkozy is probably one of the more sensible politicians in France outside of FN on immigration (unlike establishmentarians like Merkel in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, Sarkozy has acknowledged that African and Arab immigration to his country is a problem), and that he will have no choice but to give FN's views a hearing if he loses by a narrow margin.
