There will be many claimants before the throne. It is silly to worry about Trump’s contacts for they will be very numerous. AE shared meeting time with a couple of dozen others, whoop de do.

“Why would a person think it might be good?”

I’ll comment when Trump is sworn in and his cabinet selected. And it is supposition, but I see several good reasons to talk to all of these people.

you don’t think it is significant that Trump is meeting with Clinton insiders?

“why would meeting Ari mean anything that he can’t handle”

That’s not the point. Meeting with despicable scumbags is in and of itself disturbing.

Sorry but that is the point. People are going out of their way to find problems where none exist.

“Sorry but that is the point. People are going out of their way to find problems where none exist.”

It doesn’t become the point just because you insist on it.

The point is not what Trump can or can’t “handle;” the point is that meeting with scumbags is suspicious conduct. Nobody thought that Beelzebubba’s runway meeting with Loretta Lynch was innocent, and it probably wasn’t.

It raises the hackles. Why are you meeting with scumbags, Mr. President-elect? And given the fact of the meeting, it cannot be said with certainty that no problem exists.

Trump is consorting with a lot of people that I couldn’t be in the same room with, and I don’t like it.

Leni. You are right. This is “Game of Thrones” now “Art of the Deal”. DJT is not driven by advisers— he is advised. He will make errors like I make errors. He will be fiercely persistent. But he said what he meant. He will be be president of all the people. That is not what I want either but it is a damned sight better that a committed communist globalist moslem lover like we have now.Go Trump. I thank God every day.

What does Ari Emmanuel “Trump’s former agent” mean?

Duh - just realized what kind of agent.

IMHO all kinds of people want to talk to Trump and he is letting some of them, not necessarily that he sought them out.

Nothing wrong with meetings if you trust your side. When things are going very well there are some who insist on finding a problem where none exists.

Did Don Corleone refuse to meet with the Heads of the Five Families when he knew very well that one of them had tried to kill him? No, he did not and found out that it was Barzini along.

The result of a meeting is what is important, not who met with whom. If Donald thought that meeting with enemies is important, you are you to say they are not. You need a bigger room.

Obamacare architect Ezekiel Emmanuel.
The same POS who said nobody needs to live past 75. Using this standard, Bernie Sanders is approaching the end of his usefulness. Jimmah Carter, John McCain, Nancy Pelosi, etc are way past their expiration dates. Perhaps they should set an example for the rest of us, as Jonathan Gruber called us STUPID PEOPLE, and immediately retire and put their affairs in order.

“Nothing wrong with meetings if you trust your side.”

That trust is strongly influenced by such meetings.

“there are some who insist on finding a problem where none exists.”

Man, you are on that mantra like a liberal on hatred.

“Did Don Corleone refuse to meet with the Heads of the Five Families when he knew very well that one of them had tried to kill him?”

Corleone was:

1. A fictional character.
2. A career criminal and not, therefore, subject to the standards of common decency.
3. A murderer.

Not an appropriate model for the president-elect.

“The result of a meeting is what is important, not who met with whom.”

Okay, and what was the result of these meetings?

That we do not know is unsettling.

“If Donald thought that meeting with enemies is important, who are you to say they are not?”

I have not said they are not. I have asked, “Whiskey tango foxtrot, Oscar?”

Your answer would seem to be a demand for absolute, blind trust in the president-elect.

Early in the campaign I noted that Trump was the only candidate who was even saying the right things. Many people said he couldn’t be trusted, and I replied that since we knew to an absolute certainty that the others couldn’t be trusted, our best bet—our only bet—was to hope and pray that Trump was telling the truth.

You know that “time” they mean when they say “time will tell?” Well, that time is now, and I’m made a little uneasy by all these camels in the tent.

“You need a bigger room.”

Not sure what you mean by that, but if you’re saying that I should be more tolerant of our president-elect consorting with the despicable scoundrels we just voted against, I don’t believe that is good advice.

You illustrate perfectly why the Constitutional Convention was conducted in absolute secrecy.

Leaders do not telegraph their motives or means. If you do not support them, so be it let suspicions determine your thoughts. Those who trust the President see no reason for alarm.

“You illustrate perfectly why the Constitutional Convention was conducted in absolute secrecy.”

There was no man as scurrilous as Emanual associated with or watching the Constitutional Convention. Those men could be trusted.

Can Trump? Well, I bet on that when I argued for him and voted for him, but I am watching to see if I was wise to do so.

“Leaders do not telegraph their motives or means.”

You say that as though it were a universal principle. I would say rather that there is a time for secrecy and a time for transparency.

“If you do not support them, so be it let suspicions determine your thoughts.”

Oh, road apples. I still support the president-elect. That doesn’t mean I must vigorously overlook anything that might be suspicious.

“Those who trust the President see no reason for alarm.”

Wow. Are you even reading your stuff?

I trusted Bush long past the point at which his conduct should have tipped me off to his true nature. I hope that I have learned something from that.
