It’s a hit show, the scalpers and ticket agents bought up all the seats and sell them at ridiculously high prices. He was nuts to pay that. I assumed it was a courtesy ticket to the incoming Veep.

No, that would have been true in the past but a few years ago Ticketmaster caught on and raised the prices for the first 10 rows, etc. On popular shows Ticketmaster sets prices at what the traffic will bear. As I mentioned upthread I just looked at tickets for that show from Ticketmaster and can confirm. Those are the original not scalped prices.
Actually since you understand New York well, why not actually give a shout out to Donald’s folks... pay a visit to Trump Tower and leave a note? NOT being sarcastic.
