Actually whites were 70% of the voters
70% of voters, but not 70% of the population, which is what I was talking about. As far as the white population of the country, there is a misleading 70% number going around that includes Hispanics. For the sake of counting the "white people" population against those numbers in the Democrats minority coalitions (which is what I was referring to), counting "brown people" in the white demographic is just wrong. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Hispanic_whites
It's easy enough for us to be right on the merits without padding our numbers, stretching the truth, exaggerating facts, giving the alt left an opening. White non-Hispanic population as of 2012 was about 62% in the US. But yes, I saw that number, too. Whites that bothered to vote made up 70% of the electorate this year.
By the way, Bob, it seems I've got your number the last couple days. I don't mean to be argumentative and certainly not antagonistic. I'm happy to be wrong and be corrected with civility here (as you've always attempted to do!) -- I do learn so much here! Just want to get it right when possible 'cause baby, we're on a roll! : D

I agree regarding white Hispanics - they are Hispanic first...My 70% (voting) number was for non-Hispanic whites. It was 72% 4 years ago and it could actually hold at 70% 4 years from now, or increase a bit, if we clean up voting and if Trump starts the deportations.
And yes, we are on a roll!!! So far.
