WASHINGTON - November 18, 2016 -
The National Education Association today joined civil rights, faith leaders, and other advocates to ask President-Elect Donald Trump to leverage his position to call for an end to the recent wave of racist, bigoted, and violent incidents and rhetoric that have taken place since his election.
NEA and more than 100 groups signed a letter urging Mr. Trump to call for an end to the acts of harassment, vandalism, property destruction, and in some cases, assault, that have intensified over the past several days, some of which took place in public schools and on college campuses.
The following statement can be attributed to NEA President Lily Eskelsen García:

They are just trolling for a story that they are making up. If he says anything it will be spun badly and the story will continue. Kellyanne should handle this by saying this is ridiculous. Of course as everyone in the Trump campaign has said time and again hate is bad. But many people rioting in the streets are spreading the hate.
And guess whose doing all of the above? The damn students. Someone is directing the NEA to stage all the student protests and I think we have more than enough reasons to know who that is.
he already did...even thought it isn’t us spewing hate.
Honestly I didn’t realize just how fundamental a component to human psychology it really is until the past few years...(observing the PC police and faux environmentalists among others.)
projection par excellence
pure projection
“Stop it.”
Why should Trump denounce Hillary’s followers’ actions?
Give me a break. . .these people have lost it!
leverage his position ???
While I empathize with the listed groups, just as Congress was wrong to let Obama get away with stealing state powers to harass the sovereign states by trying to establish politically correct transgender restrooms in state schools, these groups are now unthinkingly asking Trump to unconstitutionally expand the feds powers.
I suppose that master deal-maker Trump can at least leverage his popularity to discourage Obama-inspired hate-filled acts regardless that the feds have no constitutional authority to interfere in such issues.
Low-information citizens, after almost eight years of lawless Obama, have got to stop thinking of POTUS as the national Santa Claus.
And as an afterthought, no interviews for media outlets which use deceptive editing of televised speeches or talks to private groups to make him look bad. Like in the Trayvon thing when they edited out the 911 operator's question about the race and left the "He looks black" in.
*In the George Zimmerman Trayvon Martin case, NBC altered the 911 call. The whole world was talking about George Zimmermans racial slur, when talking to the 911 Operator never mind that we didnt hear a racial slur. We did hear Zimmerman say he looks Black, but what we didnt hear was the 911 Operator ask Zimmerman what the man looked like. The answer: he looks Black. Not exactly a racial slur. Not exactly anything but the truth as Zimmerman undoubtedly saw it that night.*
*Thanks, Maggie's Notebook. Borrowed it from you. Maggie, if you're not a FReeper, you should be!
Or Trump should release the CBS anti hate question.
Agreed. Most news during the election required swapping Trump with HRC and vice versa.
How does that work ?
NEA\Labor\Civl Rights etc...are the ones protesting Trump and causing mayhem and they want Trump to tell them to cut it out ?
Repeal and replace public education with a voucher system and full school competition.
If you look closely at these riots and dig a little into the front men for this anarchy and mayhem, you will find most of it is Soros driven and Workers World Party and Communist USA. Everyone bitching and moaning are just socialist punks and useful idiots.

I agree. Trump should bring the leaders of the NAACP to the White House and tell them they better reach out to their communities and tell their people to stop the racist nonsense.
NEA members....lowest form of life ever
Denounce what? The BS is strong in these ones.
Continuing proof that LIBs are the lowest life form. Idiots.
Can you imagine what it would be like right now if these people had won? We sure wouldn’t be posting to FreeRepublic.
