Sally Jewell, the U.S. interior secretary, just cancelled leases to drill for natural gas on federal land in Colorado, in a last-ditch effort to stop an energy boom bigger than Bakken Shale discovery in North Dakota.
Jewells Bureau of Land Management claimed that the 25 Mancos energy drilling leases now being cancelled were just a non-performing portion of 65 leases on lands managed by the White River National Forest and amount to less than ½ of 1 percent of the active leases on public lands in the state of Colorado.
But the 25 properties were non-performing only because they have been tangled in red-tape since President Barack Obama took office in 2009, even though they were leased in 2005 during George W. Bushs administration.
The BLM manages nearly 700 million acres of federal lands in the United States. Because of tight restrictions, the onshore oil and gas wells on BLM lands accounts for just 11 percent of the natural gas supply and five percent of the oil supply in the United States.

But anyhow, if Wahhabists, whom the S.A. are vainly trying to pay off, should in turn make plans in S.A.’s sight to attack the USA... why still would they not want to warn the USA, their best customer. It seems all downside for them.
I think we should taunt those protestors with free weed. They voted to legalize it but can’t enjoy it!
Geesh, another charge against odumbo, destroying government documents (something akin to Hitlary’s emails?”)
OR, I thought that once a document has been stamped as “received” it becomes government property. Am I worng?
Elections have consequences...THANK GOD!
' Paybacks a B.... Wait, What??
“Trump has a roll of tape Im sure.”
I will take particular joy if Sarah Palin is the Secretary of the Interior who not only inks the re-leasing of these particular leases, but a boatload more. It is time to be energy independent, and to use the resources with which we’ve been gifted.
That reminded me of one of the last things the first, and thankfully only, Clinton administration did on the way out. They greatly reduced legal arsenic levels in water to below the natural level in much of the West, thus requiring either vast increases in water processing costs or making Bush repeal it and thus "poison the children".
Amen to that. It's a perversion for the Western States to have had to pay the FedGov “land blackmail” in order to become states. If the Feds “owned” 90% if Massoftwoshitts like they do of Nevada it might be different, but they don't and they never did. The Bundy’s were right to call their bluff in Bunkerville, NV, and here's hoping that the Trump Administration will put an end to their trials for standing up to a tyrannical government.
You just know Melania will have to redecorate and fumigate many rooms in the living quarters in the WhiteHouse. Lots of orange painted walls, faux antique African head statues, black leather couches, and purple drapes. Probably stinks of hair perm solution and bad cologne.
Big Ditto on that. I didn’t vote for her either!
I bet that's what they thought: legalized drugs means free drugs.
Just give everyone a two month holiday and ask them to report to work Jan 22nd.
I’d love to see an EO that reopens ALL closed roads on US Forest Service land.
Thank God it’ll be Trump and not Hillary!!!!
Look, ppl pay for a lease. They don’t get “torn up” or the noney refunds.
This expired. It’s the most likely explanation. They didn’t drill and only drilling and producing stops the expiration clock.
Colorado is not going to be an energy boom at $45/barrel. Period. This is propaganda from our own side. Hell, the Bakken yesterday reported declining output, as it has all year.
There was never a technological miracle for shale. There was price, and only price. The technology is 40 yrs old.
Krap..this will take Trump Adm a couple of days to fix. Obama butt-boys have to know these *last ditch* efforts are futile.

Very consistent. The libs have been doing this to choke off oil production for years. In Alaska, at the ANWR area up where there isnt anything, they are stifling less than 2% of Alaska with that project. Doesnt matter how many jobs are created or how much oil can be harvested.
And the really funny thing, I laugh at libs a lot, is that the reason they didnt want the pipeline and fought against it, was because it would harm the porcupine caribou by cutting off their migration lands and cause a jump in calving mortality rates. I was up there a couple of years ago, and I found out that from the people up there that since the pipeline was built, they are over run with caribou. It seems the mortality rate of newborn calves has been cut because the pipeline is heated for the winter month so the oil wont freeze under temps below -100D and the cows have been calving right next to the pipelines. I guess this can be explained as the caribou being smarter than the libs. No surprises here.

Unsealed Obamas records and let the purifying rays of sunshine commence
I want that too
Can’t wait for Trump to fire her.
