Just be aware that the WP has already tried to "discredit" this story - but deep in the article it says:
"Ford has never announced any plans to move either its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, which produces the Lincoln Navigator, or the Louisville Assembly Plant, which produces the Lincoln MKC, to Mexico.
In a statement on Thursday night, following Trump's tweet, the company said it had told Trump it would cancel a plan to shift production of a single model the MKC from Kentucky to Mexico. The company last year indicated it would be moving MKC production out of Louisville, though it did not announce where it was going. At the time, union leaders said the shift would not cost any jobs in Kentucky."
So even the CEO said it cancelled it's plan. Maybe not the entire plant, but a part of it.
Washington Post article
These people are deranged. PE Trump tweet specifically mentioned their SMALL SUV. Would moving the assembly of that one model from the KY plant which makes other models have cost jobs? Who knows but less work is not a good thing, because it could snowball. Once ONE model goes to Mexico, then you know they’ll move the mid sized models next. It’s good to stop something before it starts.
Love how they quote “union reps” as saying the moving of the Lincoln MKC to Mexico from the KY plant was never going to cost any jobs. Whatever. These people are highly paid liars. Anytime you lose a contract to manufacture a product at your plant it’s not good even if you are producing other things.
