This is good. Now...who for SecDef? How about General “Mad Dog” Mattis?

By law, a general officer of the military cannot serve as Secretary of Defense until he has been retired for at least seven years.

The object is to maintain the tradition of civilian control of the military (evidently, Congress believes it takes seven years for a military guy to become a civilian).

I didn’t know that. Interesting. I thought he had been out that long, but I guess not.
