Well, sure, of course they’re trying to get around legal issues. It’s the American way.

Aren’t most high-end designer clothes ‘custom-made’ for the purchaser, if necessary? A loaner for publicity would seem to be even more likely to be custom.

It seems to me that more couture can be gotten off the rack these days, but only in certain sizes. Really spiffy stuff, like gowns for special, particular events would be bespoke. Mooch’s size would make buying bespoke a necessity, I would think, for most of her duds. Only questions are who paid, and were gift and tax regs followed.
