Babs, all of those years in the Senate and you still never figured out that we live in a constitutional republic, not a democracy, hence in some ways we can be undemocratic. The founders put this in among other things so that we have a devolution of power and the majority cannot tyrannize the minority. I know you think that the California liberals are the most important people on the planet, but the founders thought that the farmers in Iowa and the ranchers in Wyoming were equally important and deserve a say....
So why have “United States” anymore if 10-12 states are against the wishes of 38-40 states? Might as well dissolve the Union.
Kabuki, thank goodness.
Notice how Dems always use ones retiring - Boxer or Dingy Harry - or not up for re-election for these stunts.
You’ll know to take them seriously when they use someone up for re-election soon.
More tricks and lies from the dems.
Came in as a twit; leaves as a twit.
WITH California, Hillary leads the popular votes counted by about 950,000.
WITHOUT California, Trump leads the popular votes counted by 2.1 million.
In other words, 49 States’ popular votes overwhelmingly preferred Trump. In fact, a MAJORITY of Americans outside of California voted for Trump (51%). And this INCLUDES the liberal bastions of New York and Massachusetts.
Take a hike (soon to be ex) Sen. Boxer!
Now who is out of the mainstream of America?
What has changed in modern society that necessitates a move from the electoral college to a popular vote? Tyranny and mob rule, and our Constitutional Republic's 237 year effort to protect the citizens' rights from both hasn't changed.
Does the bill include provisions for a runoff election in case no candidate wins a majority of the national popular vote? Clinton may at the moment have more votes than Trump, but the last time I checked, she did not have over 48%.
But that’s another issue the Electoral College SOLVES.
Tell her to remove all the dead and illegals from the voter rolls and then see if she still wants to do it........it wouldn’t have helped them this time except for the dead and illegals that voted....
Let’s first count all of the absentee ballots (they don’t count them you know unless it’s within the margin) and you’ll see Trump won the popular vote too. Then let’s hear what she has to say ...
If I were dyslexic, I would have smiled as I read the headline as this:
ELECTORAL COLLEGE TO INTRODUCE BILL TO END BARBARA BOXER
Given the chance the Democrats would federalize your local public schools and city governments.
She can introduce all the bills she likes. It won;t do any good. It will take a Constitutional Amendment to eliminate the Electoral College. It does not surprise me that her idiots believe that is all it would take. In reality, it won’t matter anyway. After we die off, the Nation won’t last a week with the SJWs that populate the colleges and universities running it.
This election we tried one more time to give them back a Constitutional Republic and up to now they are shitting on it. Hell with them let the sobs starve to death.Let them live like the North Koreans.
It requires a constitutional amendment.
Boxer is a has-been. Maybe she and Pelosi can share a room in “the home.”
Get rid of the senate for the same reason.
We the People, in order to reform a more perfect union, need to return the United States Senate to its rightful place, as a representative of the States to the Federal government. To do that, we will need to write an amendment, getting rid of the 17th, and return power to the place it belongs, with the people.
If we do that, Senators will be no more than State servants, and if in place today, there would be a 60+ Republican majority seated in that “August body”..in my best William F Buckley voice.
She really needs to take that course at Hillsdale College on the Constitution. I believe it takes an amendment of the Constitution to change the electoral college. And with the Republicans holding 46 of the 50 statehouses, that might be a problem. Oh well, it makes her low IQ constituents happy, and that’s all that matters for a Democrat.
In our legislative branch, the House represents population and the Senate represents states.
Our presidential election process should similiarly give weight to both population and states.
“The Electoral College is an outdated, undemocratic system that does not reflect our modern society, and it needs to change immediately”
Usually only ignorant kids make that argument. For an old person to make it, well as they say:
With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.
Being a slave to NY and California's illegal voting.....NO THANKS!
