"Drill, baby, drill!
During her bid for vice president in 2008, that was Sarah Palin's crowd-pleasing chant promoting her energy policy. Now the pithy catchphrase and the former Alaska governor herself could make a comeback.
News reports say Palin is on President-elect Donald Trump's short list to head the Interior Department. As secretary of the interior, she'd be in charge of overseeing oil drilling, uranium mining and other energy extraction on 500 million acres of public land, including iconic national parks like the Grand Canyon.
The pro-mining policies Trump and Palin could be expected to bring to Interior would mean EWG and other public land advocates would have to resume a fight we thought the Obama administration settled in 2012.
Under President George W. Bush, the Interior Department tried to open up uranium mines near the south rim of the Canyon. It was a scheme that even The Arizona Republic, once a champion of the so-called Wise Use movement, denounced.
If Trump does make moves to open up uranium mining around the Grand Canyon, Palin wouldn't stand in his way, judging from her quip in 2011 about opening the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling: If a caribou needs to be sacrificed for the sake of energy independence, I say, Mr. Caribou, maybe you need to take one for the team.
In a few months, she could be leading the team.

You’re just messing with us, right?
Over 60% of Alaska is federal lands. As Governor, Palin got lots of experience dealing with federal land policies.
Oh, and there’s the whole “executive experience” thing. Alaska is a very complex state to govern; and Palin had sky-high approval ratings.
Yeah, it’d be tough to hand a live deer head in her office.
Maybe she can reclaim some lands already set aside for Russians and Chinese interests and UNESCO to buy up as we decline as a nation.
maybe even kick the Mexican cartels out of the national forests.
just a thought.
Democrat/liberal/progressive /Marxist heads exploding.

“every day is Christmas morning! and we havent even got to Jan 20 yet!”
That’s exactly how I’ve felt since the 10th. Rudi, Bolton, Gingrich, Palin etc......we could see a real “Dream Team”.

Take the “f” out of “batf”.
Have the background checks done by the (renovated) f b I.
OMG...not a week and I have severe Winners Syndrome. ...hope there is an Obamacare code for that.
EPA needs to disappear, along with Education, Energy, and DHS by June of next year. Then we can chip away at anothe few departments and agencies by Christmas. Hopefully, unemployment in DC will be around 40%.
I hope she hangs a dead dear head in her office.
It’s not the winning I can’t handle. It’s the whining!
Hope they aren’t yanking our chains. She would be great!
Is the ex-governor of Alaska qualified to be Secretary of the Interior? She is infinitely more qualified than the tree-hugger we’ve got in the job now!
Bill can probably be trusted to do the only job he's to be given. Dismantle the worthless Dept of Ed.
His progress or lack thereof to be monitored continually. If he isn't doing as directed by the boss, then he'll hear "You're Fired!" Thump doesn't suffer fools and isn't afraid to replace incompetents.
Great list. Glad you put Bachmann in IRS.
Heh Heh Heh....
Oh please, oh please. Let it be! Gov. Palin is perfect for this role. And if half of the DOI personnel quit in protest - win/win.
I am sure Sarah has a few other trophy mounts to hang in her office:
