By the 80s it was a bit late to start worrying about the Warpac coming through the Fulda Gap.

The Abrams is by far the best main battle tank. It’s only flaw is that it’s a fuel hog. I’m wondering, with today’s technology with turbo diesel engines, if similar performance might be achieved with a diesel as the current turbine while achieving much better range.
