Stress Expert: Media To Blame For Left’s Post-Trump Freakout

Dr. Pete Sulack, stress expert and founder of StressRX.com, told Breitbart News on Friday that the media bears some of the blame for the deep distress felt by some Hillary Clinton supporters, and the public unrest, after Tuesday’s election results. “The media is partly to blame for actively fueling fears of some kind of Nazi regime under a Trump presidency,” Sulack said, via e-mail. “In part this is because problems and pain sell advertising space. Mass communications has always struggled with that balance between fair reporting, personal bias, and pressure from executives to keep things ‘hot.'”

He noted that people were responding negatively to anti-Trump images on television and social media.

“When we read, we can rationally discuss the issues or definitions of terms at hand. When we see pictures, however, a different part of our brain is engaged.

“That part is the limbic brain, a part also activated in stressful situations, because it is key to survival. This is the most primitive and unevolved part of us. It acts on emotion, is irrational, childish, and afraid. It can be rude and boorish, and sometimes even cruel,” he said.

Sulack notes that many voters are also upset because they feel “hopeless and powerless.” To deal with the stress, he recommends avoiding alcohol and caffeine, and instead eating dark chocolate, “tree nuts or nut butters,” and “kale and other leafy, green vegetables.”

Teen mental health expert Jamison Monroe, Founder and CEO of Newport Academy, says that while the media are fueling some of the anxiety, much of it comes from information shared by peers through social media.

Part of the blame is the media. They vilified Trump so long, hard, harshly and unjustly that anyone not knowing THE FACTS would think he was some angry alien.

Part of the blame is Shrillary herself.
*She pandered to the young, who have the worst of voting records.
**She pandered to the Hispanics who are FAR more conservative than anyone thinks.
***She pandered to the African Americans who voted for Obama BECAUSE he was black, yet derided and vilified Condoleezza Rice because she was a Republican AND the 66th United States Secretary of State, the second person to hold that office in the administration of President George W. Bush.

Also, I don't recall her hubby BillyGoat ever saying: "Vote for my wife because she is The Best." Did you ever hear that from him?

We should keep this in mind when we hear reports of children being traumatized by Trump’s election: probably in most cases, their fears were not created by anything Trump did, but by extreme characterizations of Trump coming from their parents and/or teachers.

I think also the fact that the media did not seriously consider and/or report that Donald Trump could win, that it left the democrats totally unprepared for the shock that was the Trump victory. The upside is it has been fun to watch though...

If only I still read newspapers. Well, I do look at one or two online, but mostly for the comment sections where the truth is told and American wit flourishes!

There have been a lot of local homeless stories in Seattle the past year (for reasons I won't get into), but homelessness here can't be blamed on Republicans (because there aren't any), so it is kind of treated as a fact of life, i.e., as "just one of those things."
