My thought exactly. Had it been released Thurs before the election, Friday would have been wall to wall coverage. A brief respite for football weekend and then full court press on Monday.
Reading tha article again makes you realize that these SOB’s (and their republican allies) were attempting a coup. But it didn’t work, lol! I’m so giddy and have not come off the high since Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. It still feels surreal that he’s our president-elect!

The DNC/NBC (is there a difference?) intended to drop the Trump tape at the end of October making it impossible to recover. However, Wikileaks made the DNC prematurely drop the tape to blunt the impact of the released emails. But the Wikileaks emails continued to rain down like nightly bombing raids into Axis Germany.
A miraculous confluence of events like Wikileaks, WeinerGate, and Comey’s off/on/off botched investigation, plus Trump’s absolute tenacity to keep fighting, saw us through what is without a doubt the most remarkable U.S. election in 100 years.

I cannot possibly fully explain the pleasure I get out of reading these stories of what happened before the election, what the newspapers had to say before the election and also watching the replays of election night coverage by the networks and CNN and MSNBC. I have been so far unsuccessful in finding election night coverage replays from Fox News channel Kama so if anyone knows where they are or if they are available yet I would appreciate a heads up. Thank you

The shock effect from this was definitely pronounced, but they attacked too early. Trump had time on his side, including two more debates. Would have been much more effective 2 weeks later.

The way this normally works is that the media is able to successfully destroy every Republican by the actions of one - this is the experience all of these Republicans were influenced by. Every Republican was responsible for Mark Foley’s behavior in 2006 (polls had indicated Republicans were in trouble, but had regained footing until that point) and down they went. Every Republican was responsible for Todd Aiken’s behavior in 2012 and that overshadowed the entire convention. Bob Dole wants to kill kids with cigarettes, Mitt Romney wants to ban all birth control...And so on, and so forth. They are literally flabbergasted this old playbook failed this time and they won. Ryan was bracing for big losses in the House and holding a much slimmer majority...instead they broke about even - which is why he’s been sounding and acting as giddy as a schoolgirl in the days since the election...in disbelief things worked out that good.
Please add Mark Cuban and Dallas Mavericks (because Coach Rick Carlisle is one too) to the scumball list.
Excellent point. “Drain the Swamp” did start soon after the coup attempt. These are truly horrible people....they were willing to lose, AGAIN, rather than cede power to their voting fodder.

I wonder if Trump & Co knew about tape and stampeded the MSM into going with the story too early? That allowed a month for the story to cool off. I would like to think Trump IS that smart.
She wasn't going to get her voters out, the only chance was to suppress our voters. Hence all the push polls showing Clinton winning in MI (45-42) and WI (46-40) to depress the disenfranchised conservative vote. Their message was that we would lose no matter who we choose that we had no chance and should just give up.
I think the bad timing of the release is simple stupidity on the part of the Post. Probably thought they were calculating but probably just wetting their pants and couldn't wait to release it.
Yes, he probably is that smart. After the tape he also knew that many women would be hired to use against him, so he went all out in debate 2 to get Bill’s behavior on the table and draw those attacks out early as well. That was more of an attack on the media than Hillary to show they didn’t care about Bill’s crimes. But it gave folks a few weeks to realize that Trump was being smeared.
