Portland is where lesbians move because Berkeley is too conservative.

Did San Francisco suddenly get that less conservative for them to move on to Berkeley and Portland? Boy am I behind the times.

Oregonians seem to have given up on their state even before the 21st century arrived.

San Francisco got too expensive.

The hippies and other silly people have been moving out for many years. They can’t afford the rent (they are gradually aging out in rent-controlled apartments). New/young lefties cant find apartments here unless they have a high paying job, and that sort certainly wont risk that by rioting. So Portland has become the hippie city.

More or less the same with gays also; SF is much less gay than formerly, though the economic driver isnt quite as effective as gay people are more likely to find good jobs. The crazier sort is being driven out.

The biggest effect of high rent is on blacks. Nearly the only ones left are in public housing and SF doesnt have very much of that.
