actually quadruple fool proof
1) must bring a real photo Id to polling station
2) must bring a snail mail voter registration card mailed to legal residence
3) only paper ballots used, hand counted and saved
4) the voter rolls are cross referenced with legal residency.,If one moves, you are automatically purged from old voting roll. Ditto for deceased. It’s a more stable society, so the number of people who move in any one year is tiny compared to US.
It’s difficult to get German citizenship (12 years plus need to meet some German “cultural” requirements). There are a few million non-citizens living in country, but they don’t have same ids as citizens so there is no way, a non-citizen resident could possibly get into a polling station.
Finally have 5 real poltical parties makes it difficult for the 2 big parties to collude in vote fraud.
I live in Germany. The only way that a dead guy can vote....is if he voted at 8AM and died by lunch.
Foreign votes? Can’t happen...you have to present a picture ID which you can only get if you are a citizen.
When some German city said 44,321 people voted....it’s a 100-percent reliable election. We aren’t talking 99.9 percent accurate....we are talking a complete 100 percent accurate election.
The thing is...Germans aren’t rocket-scientists over this concept. They accept a few mandatory things into the mix. There’s the public ID with a picture. There’s a mandatory requirement you register in your local town or village (NO exceptions), and if you moved one block over...you return to the city hall and re-register yourself and the move. You get a letter roughly 60 days out to tell you that the election is to be on this particular Sunday, and your place to vote is at such-and-such school building or public structure. It’s all pretty simple.

Only military and their dependants living/stationed overseas should be allowed absentee ballots.
Stateside, the military should be allowed to vote on base at an actual polling station.
No reason we couldn’t have a polling place active where needed, everywhere needed. Just like each was it’s own city, not like i would distrust the military on how to vote correctly. Absentee ballots invite corruption.

exactly. Treat every unit with dignity and respect, same day voting, same day count, submitted same day for a tally.
