I remember Doonesbury growing up. It didn't poison my mind but I remember it. It was considered a hip cartoon - if a cartoon can be considered hip.

I did like the Far Side.

For me, Doonesbury and Bloom County were funny early on. As the authors grew older, they became more polarizing and a lot less funny. My local paper growing up moved Doonesbury to the editorial page because subscribers kept writing in to say they read the funnies to laugh and Doonesbury wasn’t funny, just political. Last I checked in on Doonesbury, it still wasn’t funny. Just topical liberal soap-opera.
