Trump had been invited to the big event by UFC president Dana White and had expected to attend. But the Secret Service is cautioning against it due to security concerns, according to the sources...

Wrestling/Boxing/UFC/NASCAR some of Trumps most enthusiastic supporters. Blue collar working men and women. Besides, tell me where the current president has not gone? We can’t have a rule of law if we can’t protect our Pres. Elect
UFC won’t be as large as a Trump Campaign Rally.

That is probably a big part of the message he and Melania got at the White House Thursday.

Things need to calm down first. Give it a year to see how the public reacts to him as POTUS.

He needs to cooperate with what the Secret Service recommends.
I have no doubt that the SS are professionals and should be deferred to when possible, but it is also certain that they would prefer Trump make their job as easy as possible, even at the expense of doing the things that Trump must do. In other words, the preference of the SS is for Trump to sit 24x7 in a bullet-proof room surrounded by guards in a secure location, whereas Trump would prefer to be visible and be out among the people. The proper level of action is, of course, somewhere in the middle, on a shifting scale in accordance with the suspected threats. As it is, I am sure that if Trump insists on going, the SS will handle it. Question is, will it screw up the experience for the fans?

He should not go. The securing the area would be very difficult. Take a look at all the death threats just on Twitter. After inaugeration, perhaps then, he can become more adventurous. But as a republican president, Donald will always be at high risk of assault. The left has become twice as prone to violence compared to ten years ago. Why? Mostly because they have been infiltrated by anarchists and communists who will stop at nothing to bring capitalism down.

I am conflicted about this. On one hand, he needs the protection. But on the other hand, this is his base, and it would be nice to show his is still with them.

He’s going to go and it’s going to be yuuuge!

It just doesn’t seem like a very good idea.
Heck, I’m quite sure McGregor would much rather fight Trump than Alvarez.
McGregor is about as liberal they come.

The left has riled-up the brainless Hitlery Youth.
One of those pasty freaks may pull something.

Donald...there may be times when you have to go against the advice of the SS (who,BTW,respect you enormously):
BUT THIS AIN'T ONE OF THEM!
To: fr_freak
Sure, but is going to a UFC fight at MSG really an event he needs to attend or can he watch the fight another way? Gotta pick your battles.
