"Can this guy be our next Secretary of Labor?"

From your lips to G-d's ears. I he does one thing only is take the 170 or so job training programs and make them one and make it a grant or loan for jobs that are begging of top talent, welders come to mind right off the bat...

I met a guy a couple weeks ago. He started going to college and hated it. He eventually became a welder and loves it. He confirms that the industry is screaming for skilled welders.

I work in the adhesives industry. Adhesives can replace welds in some circumstances. A few years ago, I was contacted by a writer from a welding magazine for an article she was writing.

She told me that the US Navy had a rule that only American welders could work on Navy vessels under construction. They had to change the rule to allow foreign labor. Not enough Americans in the trade.
