I bet the meeting between Michelle and Melania was a bit icy. Jill Biden was there too, so she maybe helped things along.
Melania seems to have taken a more private role all through the campaign. Perhaps she prefers that and asked to not have the photo taken, esp. with a person who insulted her husband.
Or maybe Michelle knows she doesn’t have to pretend to be nice to anyone anymore and cancelled it.
