Even more than in 1980, the media this year was in the tank for the Democrats. That crazy, racist and fringe tea party movement had been put in its place, dismissed as consisting of little more than a bunch of elderly ignoramuses not even worth mentioning as everyone prepared to coronate Mrs. Clinton. Less idealistic about how long it would take to change the country, tea party activists had gone to work, joining with others who distrusted pollsters and do not answer surveys.

Pat CAddell said Sunday that it might turn out to be 1980. He was right.
Right down to the re-use of President Reagan’s slogan.
Jimmy Carter must be having flashbacks.
Those who don’t learn from history must repeat it. We didn’t learn.
I remember 1980 well. I was 30 at the time. Glad to see it happen again.
its 1980 again, minus the giant killer rabbit that almost ate Jimmy Carter
I distinctly remember there was the air traffic controller strike early on in Reagan’s first term. Reagan used that incident to set the tone that he was not going to put up with crap. I have no idea if these demonstrations and riots we have now will extend into next year but if they do I predict Trump will send them a message pretty fast.
I was just telling my 15 year old son the similarities are striking. We are both 15, we are taking over from a complete wuss with an economy in shambles, and everyone thinks our President elect is a war mongering nut job that no one thougt would ever win a week before.
2016, 1980 and 1968 were years of the Monkey, riots is the daily menu in those years, or a war such as 1944, another year of the Monkey.
Its an uncontrollable urge many brainless social idiots eagerly fall into. Think of it as a yearly type of lunar full moon type of lunacy.
It was a good year. SNL was actually funny in those days. And disco was on the way out....Good times.
I think this is even bigger than 1980.While 1980 was earth shaking we were not being overrun by every third world parasite that we are today. Our identity as a Christain country was not under the assault then that it is today. This is a whole lot bigger because we were on the verge of losing our country to the globalists. No more bushes or clintoons.
I remember when a DJ in Philly said that Dire Straits Sultans of Swing was the beginning of the end for disco. This was at that time, 1980 or '81.
Probably the only profound observation I've ever heard from a DJ.
I listen to The Stever on WLS every day. He hasn’t lost a step.
That was a huge record. I was listening to the radio out of L.A. when I first heard it, and the DJ there said much the same thing. Dire Straits and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers brought rock back.
I remember 1980 well. I was 30 at the time. Glad to see it happen again.
With both Houses loaded Republican, to boot.
