The first half of last night was stressful. I could barely eat. Stupid Florida, always keeping us on the edge of our seats. I switched my networks around last night. I mostly relied on Fox News and Twitter. CNN wasnt calling states as fast, and MSNBC is a last resort kind of thing. I vowed to stay away from that channel, UNLESS things started shaping up for Donald Trump.
Then the results started coming in. Flyover nation. North Carolina. Ohio. Florida? Wisconsin?!!! Thats when the wheels started falling off their wagon. Thats when I started thinking about Hillary Clintons defeat. I never really allowed myself to go there before. I didnt want to get my hopes up, but my country came through. We the People are not stupid.
We the People defeated MSM. We the People defeated the establishment. We the People saved the Supreme Court. We the People rejected the power-hungry, seahag criminal in a pantsuit.
After they announced Wisconsin, commentators started to change their tune. They looked visibly nervous. Eventually, Mockarena told me it was safe to flip to MSNBC, and it was hysterical. I thought Rachel Maddows face was going to fall off. I flipped back to Fox News. Juan Williams practically peed himself. I watched the cheese slide off his crackers in real time. It was something.
I scrolled through social media. Liberals were melting down. They wrote stuff like, I dont know how we consistently underestimated the quiet endurance of racism in America. They whined over flagrant sexism.

To use a well worn Brit phrase:
Sod off, snowflakes.
Very well written.
To whiney liberals. Bring it, I can fight back and defeat all of you.
Read the whole essay. Hannah hits it out of the park!
To quote the soon-to-be-former 44th President, shortly after he won his first election:
‘President Obama infamously espoused this view shortly after his 2009 inauguration, during a meeting with congressional Republicans about his economic proposals. Mr. Obama was later quoted as telling GOP leaders that “elections have consequences,” and, in case there was any doubt, “I won.”’
To all Freepers who suggested Fox Business: thank you, thank you, thank you. I don’t think I could have taken watching any of the usuals.
I went to bed at 8, because I was kind of tired. But not before I indulged in a bit of superstitious practice, which "worked for the Cubs." I guess you'd call this sympathetic magic, and it's quite common to have some ritual, especially as a sports fan, required for the home team to win. Mine was to win a game of Mahjong Solitaire, and for good measure, leave the volcano running.
So anyway, I woke up at 3AM, came downstairs, and saw the all-but-final results, touted as 95% probable. So I turned off the volcano, shut down my PC, and went back to bed.
Yes, she did!!
CNN’s ‘big board analyst’ was like a super nerd- He was breaking down states by individual counties, showing stats comparing this election and last election for each county- rattling off crap off the top of his head that only a numbers expert nerd would know- even recalling stats on governors and mayors etc as though he were reading them out of a book- He was also fairly ‘fair’ in how he was calling each county- he wasn’t trying to sugar coat the dismal numbers like wolf blitzer was doing- wolf was nearly crying at times- this fella at the board would just say something along the liens of “At this time last year, dear leader was up way more than she is in this county, and to be frank, I don’t see her catching up this late in the game in this county- Can she make it up in other counties? Possible, but probably not”
Sure- he wanted to call positive for her- and hoped she would either match dear leader’s numbers, or outperform them- but I thought he did a pretty good job calling the counties, and explaining why they were holding off on calling some states that fox had already called- It was a very thorough and informative job- and he would say something like “This county could sway the state back towards her, IF the numbers come out that are expected” and you’d watch the poll numbers as more votes came in from that county, and sure enough the poll numbers would swing back towards her-
I’d switch back to fox and it was just blatting opinions left and right- and very little ‘big board’ explanations- I wasn’t staying up all night for opinions- i wanted facts as they were breaking- and to be told how it was affecting the race- and i sure didn’t want to hear megan’s negative crap opinions all night-
Toward the end of the election though CNN went to a ‘panel of opining dunderheads who thought their opinions could sway the election’ which was a real shame- but their board work was pretty good i thought- Way better than carl rove’s whiteboard explanations-
I didn’t even mind blitzer’s obsessive liberal ‘optimism’ because i found it funny as the numbers kept dropping for her- He was like the comedy that kept the tedious number crunching 1/2 interesting lol- Certainly Not making the case for CNN- just sayin i felt their board work was very helpful in understanding what was going on compared to fox’s less helpful generalized breakdowns of the numbers-
With all the tears I saw today, a keg would be more like it.
Cry me a river.
