Hillary Clinton's Loss Triggers Leadership Crisis for Democrats
NBC ^ | 9 Nov 2016 | ALEX SEITZ-WALD

NEW YORK — The Democratic Party was decapitated overnight.

Hillary Clinton's stunning loss to Donald Trump created a power vacuum at the top of the party and a crisis of confidence among its remaining standard bearers.

Clinton was nowhere to be seen at her election night party early, held in a convention center in Manhattan whose glass ceiling was supposed to represent the metaphorical one she seemed so close to shattering just hours earlier. But the ceiling went unbroken and she conceded privately to Trump.

Instead, the unenviable task of addressing Clinton's crestfallen supporters fell to John Podesta, Clinton's campaign chairman, who is better known as a behind-the-scenes operator than a public leader.

"I know you've been here a long time. It's been a long night and a long campaign. But I can say, we can wait a little longer can't we?" Podesta said early Wednesday. "Several states are too close to call, so we are not going to have any more to say tonight."

Clinton is due to make a statement Wednesday morning.

Clinton aides and supporters in the campaign's final months believed they were fighting a noble battle to defend the ramparts of the republic from the existential threat posed by Trump. They were confident that they would not just defeat the GOP nominee, but also repudiate him and everything he stands for with an overwhelming margin.

And yet despite having virtually every possible advantage at her disposal, from more money to better staffers to better data, it was Clinton and her party that was repudiated in the biggest presidential shock in recent memory.

As much as the GOP gets criticized for their presidential candidates, the DEMs ran two old, white liberal for America to choose. Sadly, one will end up winning the popular vote, but thankfully not the Electoral vote. Even if Biden had run, it would have been more of the same.

They will blame the media, which gave Trump so much coverage throughout the campaign and chased Clinton's email scandal with what Democrats saw as clear double standard.----------------The MSM was always supporting the Witch

one will end up winning the popular vote

That's a terrifying reality, viz. the majority of voters are actually so ignorant, evil, corrupt, that they actually voted for that pig. We may have been granted a reprieve, but I fear the future.

As long as the commies, fags, reprobates control public education and entertainment, we're never going to fix this thing.

Republicans were thought to be facing a post-election civil war, but now it will likely be the Democrats....

OMG...the weeping and gnashing of teeth....not to mention the finger-pointing, and the blame-game.... will be monumental.

The despicable Dems stood idly by as the Clintons buck-raked and imperiled our safety and US ntl security.

And all of them sucked-up to the Royal Idiot.

There are not enough prisons......

Trump’s coattails were long....

Repubs held both Houses in Congress and made gains in state races for Governor....

.....just the beginning of Dem problems.

“Hillary didn’t even have the guts to face her followers...”

Because for HRC, it was never about serving the people, it was about having power OVER the people.

Perhaps her jilted “followers” will now begin to understand that...

True, but looked another way, 52% of the voters will end up voting for someone other than Hillary.

I was off in my assessment of the 3rd party candidates. I figured the cumulative total for all 3rd party candidates was going to max out at 3.5%. Looks like it will end up at 4.5%.

The country is not happy, and some were not thrilled with the options for president. It is just fortunate that Trump won the right combination of states to keep Hillary and the DEMs from the White House.
