Why would there be separate sample ballots by party in a general election? Am I missing something here?

In VA the parties are allowed to offer a list of candidates and issues they support. The parties each have a manned table at my polling place

It was a Virginia freeper, iirc. He said that normally when he arrives at the polling station that the dem line is longer than the rep line. It sounds like they can get a sample ballot from their party of preference to take into the voting booth with them. Not a bad idea with judges. Here in Ohio they don’t list a judge’s party ID.
