Might have been because I was at HQ, but I most certainly did notarize things...the Command had a stamp, aand any of the officers could use it to Notarize for people.....then again, I am old as dirt and retired before it became fashionable to recruit queers ;-)
Besides training, I was in a tank battalion all four years. They didn’t let me anywhere near HQ!
