I think you're right.
The political-elite, both sides (not merely the democrats
) ascribe to the globalist agenda. As such, Donald Trump (a nationalist) symbolically represents a rejection of their agenda — something their egos actively rebel against, precisely because it would be the stupid and unwashed masses
gaining a victory over their manifestly superior intelligence
. Combine that ego with the moral plane, how people are reacting to these late-breaking stories about human trafficking, pedophilia, satanic/'occultic' rituals, etc and they cannot really allow these to become public, because it's unsure whether the general populous has been desensitized enough to shrug and say no big deal
. On the legal front those moral failings are generally reviled crimes, meaning that the sentencing is likely to be harsh if it gets to courts — add to this the number of people in high offices involved in hanged-by-the-neck Treason, both covert and overt, and there's a lot of powerful people that could legitimately be killed as punishment for their crimes. And, lastly, there's literally Trillions of dollars at stake.
With that much power and money at stake it's no wonder they're terrified. And because they're terrified, they are far more likely to strike out at those they see as a threat, so they don't have the presence-of-mind/patience/rational-functioning to be motivated to deescalate anything at all… in fact it's becoming more likely that they will do something stupid
