PETER HITCHENS: Forget the EU vote-all Britain really needs is patriotic leaders

You thought you could trust the Tory Party. You thought you could ignore our rather good constitution and bypass it with a referendum...

In May 2013, I pointed out the dangers of a referendum, asking: "Has Parliament been abolished? Has a constitution been quietly introduced, which demands that such issues are decided by plebiscite.....

For years I explained that the only way out of the EU was to replace the Tories with a genuinely patriotic conservative party that could win an Election. The referendum proves the votes were there....

And we have a pantomime horse--a policy being ineptly and half-heartedly implemented by people who don't support it. And we have a constitutional crisis.....

I can't join in the bizarre and rather lawless squawking of rage at the High Court's ruling that Parliament must vote on Article 50. It is a perfectly reasonable judgement......

Actually, this doesn't mean the Parliament will block our formal exit from the EU. Only a small coven of kamikaze MP's would dare to do that The elite have other, cleverer plans.

But it does mean that Chairman (Prime Minister) May will not have the excuse she need to fudge our exit. Parliament, and the Civil Service, will 'take back control' of the process. And what we will get will almost certainly be the Norway option-continued access to the Single Market and very little control over our borders.

But of course, that wasn't all that millions of people voted for. If we want the rest of it, especially border control, we simply cannot rely on the existing parties or the establishement to get it.

The people in the UK may have voted for Brexit, but a few days ago the High Court ruled that a Parliament dominated by anti-Brexiters (480 of 650 members) has to put it to a vote.

One election is not enough to change things when the courts and legislatures are dominated by those who oppose the will of the people. It will be the same for the USA if we elect Donald Trump POTUS on Tuesday.

I rewrite some lines of Hitchens column to make my point.

Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John McCain and the rest will still be around after Tuesday and the RINO's in Congress on the their side will still be there (95 percent or more of those we elected or will elect Tuesday).

These elite establishment forces will maintain open borders and the flow of cheap labor into our country, among many other things, unless they are replaced.

They must be replaced.

Another thing. John Kennedy and his Democrat Party were willing to take African American voters in 1960 but also willing to take segregationist votes in 1960.

If Dr. Martin Luther King had not come around to stage acts of non violent civil disobedience, JFK and the Democrats would have done nothing to change the racial situation in this country in a meaningful way.

The Republicans have consistently taken patriotic Americans votes for decades while taking the money and or votes, more importantly the money of the same business elites whose agenda is hostile to that of patriotic Americans.

I'm voting for Trump, but not holding my breath for progress even if he is elected. It will take either a dramatic change in politics, a party that is really "patriotic and conservative" and or civil disobedience against polticians and judges who get in the way of real change in this country.

Hitchens points out the fake conservatives of the "Conservative Party" in the UK and the ruling elite politicians in general intend to fake a "Brexit".

The GOP politicians will push fake reforms even if we elect Donald Trump as POTUS. We must be prepared to support whatever actions are needed after the election to really change things in this country.

Violence is not the answer, but neither is silence.

At this point there really isn’t anything to worry about. 2008 was the election where we had a few things behind us to defend, to conserve. We dont really have anything now, so there isn’t going to be much difference.

If Hillary wins, what is she going to do, realistically? Drive up the national debt? Its already at insane levels
Legalize business persecution of Christians? Already happening
Open the WH door to lobbyists who will enrich here? Thats clearly been the case for a decade already
Make the jobs situation crappier? It couldn’t be crappier
Flood the country with illegals? If she wins, this will already be past the point where change would have mattered

The only issue I can see being of great importance would be abortion. Hillary will certainly roll back abortion restrictions in America, but to be honest I think the decline in abortion numbers has mostly been down to the pro-life movement’s campaign for hearts and minds, rather than restrictions (which contrary to what democrats say, are pretty easy to get around).

As such, Im not worried. I want Trump to win of course, but if he doesn’t, its not going to be like when Obama was elected. We’re basically voting on who gets to rule the pile of rubble at this point.

Same with Brexit.

Abortion to me is defined as the “right to life” and the GOPe never was committed to it and is not as led by Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Co.

Incrementalism and symbolic legislation has been dramatized to be day and night differences by the propaganda of National Right To Life Committee, a Republican Party front organization.

They boldly called a former GOP congressman of mine “PRO LIFE” in their voters guide even though he voted by their records “PRO ABORTION” 40 percent of the time.

Operation Rescue had great potential back in the 1980’s and 90’s with blockades of abortion clinics, but the religious grassroots including myself drew back and placed their faith in politics and where has that got us in the last 25 years.

Okay, so you understand my point. We lost pretty much all the major battles. So there is room for little doom and gloom after election day if Hillary wins.

The is a good percentage of the last eight years that can be washed off with just strong soap. The nation has been poisoned, not killed. Vomit it up.

With Hillary, the poison dosage just continues.

I won't be killing myself if Trump loses, but the idea that we cannot change course, continue to exposure of the corrupt left and get the nation on a better footing is crazy.

The ACA was passed seven years ago, but it has only been effective for two years. It can be sloughed off with some upheaval, but with a healing effect.

Remember Nixon’s Wage and Price controls? If they had stayed in place for another eight or sixteen years we would have had something very hard to remove. The Congress got rid of them.

The Congress will get rid of nothing with Hillary.

What Hillary can make “dramatically worse” is our foreign policy, a permanence to domestic socialism and institutional corruption that can never be undone.
