I sent my Republican MD Delegate a letter the other day suggesting he introduce legislation to reform Maryland voting.

Eliminate early voting
Purge voter rolls every 5 years
Require ID and proof of citizenship to register to vote
Require ID to vote.

Absolutely agree with your second point. A single ID is not and cannot be sufficient. You can't even get a drivers license in most states without having MULTIPLE forms of ID and proof of residence. People -- and especially the Rats who live mostly in rentals move around a lot. A current bill is a must have.

Plus forcing them to include a "bill" will have some hilarious consequences

I like your suggestions, especially purging the voter rolls. Its kind of like zero based budgeting; start clean with no residual information to steer the process. If voting is important to you then make the effort to renew your registration. Its a minor inconvenience that could help to restore the legitimacy of what has become a corrupted data base. Very good idea!
