Dependent on migrant dollars, rural Mexico prays for Trump defeat

In the small southern market town of Molcaxac, 650 miles (1050 km) from the U.S. border, Alicia Villa is praying to God that Republican candidate Donald Trump does not become the next president of the United States.

Over the past two decades, as Mexico's rural economy stalled, Molcaxac and hundreds of towns like it became dependent on dollars sent by relatives who made the perilous journey north, a lifeline she fears will be cut by a Trump White House.

Villa, 65, said funds sent by a daughter working illegally as a house cleaner in Sacramento, California have supported her family for 12 years because the work she does as receptionist in Molcaxac does not pay enough to make ends meet.

"Trump says he will kick out everyone who doesn't have papers and we really need them to be there," said Villa, adding that she had not seen some family members living in the United States in 20 years.

Missing are the articles that I’ve seen over the years of:
* these same communities suffering high rates of juvenile crime because fathers left to work and teens are out of control
* illegal immigration TO Mexico by Central Americans to fill the jobs Mexicans abandoned for the US (agriculture, construction)
* the ease of abandoning families a tradition of going North creates when the men go north and then pair off and have children in the US
* hollowing out of communities as young people go north leaving behind older people and children, along with high burdens on the local welfare / charity network
* how Mexico’s pushing victimhood/oppression narratives, Mexican pride, racist views - keeping the 10% of its population in the US from assimilating and sending remittances back but fanning flames of hatred and division in the US for the second and third generation

Per the TED talk the six killer apps of prosperity:
One, competition. - corruption prevents this
Two, the scientific revolution.
Three, property rights. - Mexico lacks for the average Jose
Four, modern medicine.
Five, the consumer society.
And six, the work ethic.

Note to Mexicans: Pay more attention to your own freaking elections and maybe you would not have the someone who would put the Mexican people first and go after the drug cartels and create some jobs in Mexico.

Lizbeth Diaz,

I have been shamed and shamed. I (middle age white guy) killed Indians, enslaved Blacks, destroyed the planet, shackled women to a kitchen sinks and retained a ethereal, mysterious connection to the KKK.

Now, I am about to mercilessly throw poor families into starvation. And it is my fault.

Well, I have had it. I have a sympathy card, that is like a credit card. Except it is overdrawn and beyond it’s expiration date.

So screw ‘em. Deport every FReepin’ one of them illegals. They took a risk by illegally crossing the border. Like a drug dealing gang member, they knew what the law was and finally got caught.

Your chance of having a permanent Democrat majority is slipping through your fingers. Speaking of fingers, I have one for you.

Trot out the sob stories, Dems. You do it on every issue. If a single person might be harmed, millions and millions must be harmed instead.

$24 billion dollars sent from the US to Mexico last year alone.
This must end.
