Millennials aren’t wearing condoms anymore [because of HPV vaccine and anti-HIV meds]
New York Post ^ | November 2, 2016 | Christian Gollayan

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found a recent spike in STIs such as chlamydia (up nearly 6 percent since 2014), gonorrhea (up nearly 13 percent) and syphilis (up 19 percent) among young people.

A 2015 CDC study found that condom use among sexually active high schoolers dropped from 63 percent in 2003 to 57 percent in 2015. A study that same year by Skyn condoms found that 48 percent of millennials use condoms “never” or “rarely.”

Gay men such as Ben, a 29-year-old designer based in Hell’s Kitchen, say the rise of PrEP — a pill that helps prevent HIV infection — coupled with the fact that young gay men didn’t live through the AIDS epidemic of the ’80s, has made his peers more nonchalant about STIs and less inclined to use condoms.

Similarly, women sometimes believe that because they’ve received the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, they too are less at risk.

“There’s a kind of [mindset] that PrEP protects you from HIV, and other [STIs] are curable,” says Ben, who didn’t want to use his last name for professional reasons. “I feel like a lot of gays here don’t use condoms . . . even though that’s not my thing.”

Regretfully, decent people who marry these disease vectors will end up basically getting infected through no fault of their own. It’s not like everyone is a strumpet.

I don’t know how else to say this, but a lot of parents are raising their kids to retain an infantile air of emotional immaturity that I believe has crippled the common sense that kids used to have. We live in a society where young adults still can’t comprehend that unprotected sex will get you pregnant, that it’s okay to get boozed up to the point of passing out and for some reason young boys aren’t supposed to take advantage of that. There are young men who think that all women are fair game and so therefore are expected to put out on demand, young men who think that graduating high school barely literate makes them cool, and that university is just supposed to be four years of finding oneself instead of learning and working to build a resume.

I look forward to it happening. I am certain that it’ll at long last start removing these blithering idiots from our planet. A lot of these idiots would have been unable to survive fifty years ago, much less a hundred.

Now they’ll be infected with antibiotic-resistant syphilis and gonorrhea and chlamydia (not sure about that word).

>> Gay men Queer filth, such as Ben...

Indeed. Filthy sodomites.

God still condemns this vile behavior, as we are reminded in Jude:

5 Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 5-7)

Sodom and Gomorrah are still an example of God's wrath and the wrath to come.

I’ve been married so long I couldn’t imagine dating again; the stories of the spread of STDs is so gross I couldn’t imagine it.

That makes a lot of sense. When I was a girl growing up in the late sixties and seventies, I would come home from school, have a snack and do some homework, then go outside and play until dinner. We weren’t supervised at all times.

Darwin victims spreading the diseases to the unsuspected, is as bad as those coming out of prison, and their ‘others’ not being told they have the diseases because of the Privacy Act, when the ‘others’ have a right to know.

A designer dude in New York city is afraid somebody will find out he’s gay and discriminate against him??? Really????

Nothing says homosexual like "designer". It's the new "hairdresser".

Exactly!

You and your generation weren’t raised to be protected and have your hand held at all times. You learned that actions have consequences and learned that being stupid can get you hurt and in trouble. Parents understood that their kids could NOT afford to be sheltered from the ugliness of the world and had to be prepared as early as possible, within reasonable boundaries. It wasn’t just explained that getting into a car with a weirdo was bad, but DANGEROUS and it was DRILLED.

I’m utterly aghast at how so many kids are blithely going through life, basically thinking that a safe space will always be waiting for them, as if they’re entitled to a safe space.

You are so right. I remember the neighborhood kids telling me to throw a water balloon at a car passing by. It was a suburban street; he was going slow.

I wanted them to like me, so I did it.

The guy got out of his car, ran after me then threw me up against the garage of a neighbor’s house— I was 13— I never did anything like that again.

Sometimes you just have to learn. You can’t do that if you don’t have a chance to experience life.

One thing that has always intrigued me, is how ‘good girls’ cat around with their boyfriends and for some reason, are able to put on a facade of being a ‘good girl’ while around friends and family and their peers and family buy it. They literally don’t call their kids out on their messing around. Same with guys, with girls of their own class they’re as decent as anything, insofar that they do the same things as anyone else, but mistreat ‘outsiders’ all they want.

A lot of these so called ‘good girls’ are vicious bullies, abusive parents, terrible wives, and still the men put up with it and even continue to show them respect. I know that it’s PC on FR to admire housewives, but a lot of these stay at home moms still have kids getting pregnant out of wedlock, flunking school while barely graduating literate, and engaged in all sorts of criminal behavior. Then the mothers are clueless as to why their munchkins end up in messes.

Strange statement.

Most kids do NOT get pregnant out of wedlock, flunk school,or engage in criminal behavior.

Beautiful girls can get away with anything. I was overweight as a young girl, hiding in my room, eating chocolate and reading. ☺ Thanks for the chat, FRiend. Hope to see you around the boards. Btw, you have FReepmail. :) Have a great weekend! 💞

Hi, Mears, I understand what you're saying. Perhaps it is a question of where people live. I bet if the three of us could sit down and have a coffee together, we'd all be on the same page. :) Take care, FRiends. 💞
