My Democratic neighbor, Marge, said when I spoke of the latest Clinton corruption, “Well Trump’s dirty, too.” That’s her standard reply when anything nasty comes out about Clinton.
I just can’t!! with my mom who has Alzheimer’s. Sometimes we talk about the election. She was a very well read student of history and a conservative. She taught me about the revolutionary war, the founders, etc. but now if she sees a spot of news she says such nonsense, even though in vain I have often told her a quick version of what our choices are. But last night she said, “I can’t vote for Donald Trump! Guess I will have to vote for Hillary.” I want to pull every strand of hair from my head and then shoot myself, but I just let it go as she forgot it one minute later. She takes her thoughts DIRECTLY from the media. But she is very brain damaged. What’s everyone else’s excuse??
(She is not registered, and she will not be voting. I’m sure there will be a fight about it if she realizes we voted and she didn’t. She thinks there is nothing wrong with her.)
