The Hatch Act exempts the President and Vice President and ‘high ranking officials...’ which makes absolutely NO SENSE!
However, Wikipedia was quick to add this 1 day ago:

Mr. Obama's remarkable life story was actually not fully revealed to the voting public. His associations with domestic terrorist, communists, and race-baiting black supremacist preachers were carefully concealed.
But that is as may be. I believe that Barack Obama actually did have a unique historic opportunity--and he blew it. Once the "police acted stupidly" thing went down--and Eric Holder's clowns threw the Black Panther voting intimidation case--the writing on the wall should have been plain to see. The most comprehensive domestic legislation in two generations was passed in the dead of night on a party-line vote with no one actually reading it.
