“The thing that has made that such a losing proposition is the massive influx of Californians who are trying to turn Austin into what they left.”
Texas has been more than generous in trying to welcome Californians who want to move to Texas for the better business environment. Unfortunately, 99 times out of 100, libtards that move from the regulatory hell holes they created freak out with all the freedom they encounter and do exactly as you said: try to turn the place they moved to (Texas) into California.
They have taken such advantage of our laid back, generous nature in this state. I remember one comment in the 90’s made by a manager at Dell. He’d just been hired from silicone valley and thought he was such a big shot in our little city. He said that Austin was backward because there weren’t even any Starbucks. The condescension was palpable when he said “we’re blazing trails here”. The more I meet them, the less I like the general attitude that radiates off of them in waves.
I have met a few that are conservative and are moving here for the right reasons and I want to shake their hands in gratitude. They are unfortunately outnumbered by the bad ones.
