Washington (CNN)Prosecutors in the office of US Attorney Preet Bharara have issued a subpoena for Anthony Weiner’s cell phone and other records,
The FBI and the New York Police Department have opened preliminary investigations of allegations that the former New York Democratic congressman exchanged sexually explicit text messages with a purportedly underage girl.
Spokespersons for the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan and the FBI declined to comment.
The allegations first surfaced in the Daily Mail.

What is interesting about Bratton’s stepping down is first - he originally announced he would step down in 2017, then took everyone by surprise by pushing up the date to Sept., 2016; and second, the job he is moving into is with Teneo, a firm with very close ties to the Clintons. It was established by Doug Band and Declan Kelly, two Clinton apparatchiks. Doug Band was formerly a personal advisor to Bill Clinton and had very high influence in the Clinton Foundation until he got into the bad graces of Chelsea. Doug Band and Declan Kelly have both been prominently mentioned in the Wikileaks releases as engaging in “questionable” activities vis-a-vis the Clinton Foundation and their consulting business (Teneo).
