Egypt will refuel these ships. They are a close ally to Putin.

I guess that the Russian Navy learned nothing from the fiasco at Tsushima a few years ago.

They did have fleet oilers for the Black Sea fleet not too long ago.

“However, they still need to be reached, and the fuel is likely not enough. Of course, they do not have it to return home, so in the coming days we may witness the funniest in the history of the Russian Navy’s rescue operation of Russian Navy.”
They only need enough fuel to get to Syria where they have a full service naval base where they can refuel. I also think they are being sent for the long term deployment there until their ground operations in the region are complete.

I would expect Putin and the Russian Navy to hold a grudge over this. I consider it a mistake by Spain and by Malta to have rejected him.

This shows what happens when you don't have bases around. What happens to our non-nuclear ships if we lose fueling privileges in the Philippines if something was happening in the South China Sea? Do we have enough refueling ships to convoy to Australia, Japan or even all the way to Hawaii?
The carriers and subs would still move, but those carriers would be sitting ducks without destroyers and aircraft.

Is this a Ukrainian site? It just has that childish propaganda tone of theirs. The breathless comment about bombing of innocent women and children in Syria was especially funny.
But my guess is that the fleet will fish refueling from the two oilers with them, spend some time at the navy base in Syria, then eventually wind up in Crimea and base out of there for a while.
Seems logical.

I don’t know a lot about ships, but it seems a large ship without fuel adrift is a dangerous situation both for those on board and those in its path. Especially if the seas get rough.

The carrier will be refueled by oilers instead of a shore based facility. It’s more complicated and will take longer, but it will get done.

We’ll have to wait and see if this is propaganda/misinformation or legit. From the mocking tone, I’m betting propaganda.
