The leaders of an armed group who seized a national wildlife refuge in rural Oregon were acquitted Thursday in the 41-day standoff that brought new attention to a long-running dispute over control of federal lands in the U.S. West.
Tumult erupted in the courtroom after the verdicts were read when an attorney for group leader Ammon Bundy demanded his client be immediately released, repeatedly yelling at the judge. U.S. marshals tackled attorney Marcus Mumford to the ground, used a stun gun on him several times and arrested him.
U.S. District Judge Anna Brown said she could not release Bundy because he still faces charges in Nevada stemming from an armed standoff at his father Cliven Bundy’s ranch two years ago.
The jury found Bundy, his brother Ryan Bundy and several others not guilty of possessing a firearm in a federal facility and conspiring to impede federal workers from their jobs at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, 300 miles southeast of Portland where the trial took place. …

Bundy’s attorney tackled by US Marshals during heated argument with judge
PORTLAND, Ore. — Ammon Bundy’s attorney was tackled by U.S. Marshals during a heated argument with the judge after his client was acquitted on all counts Thursday afternoon.
After the verdict was read, attorney Marcus Mumford argued that Bundy was free to go. Mumford was yelling that his client was free to go.
“He said you’re not taking this man because you have no jurisdiction over him. He’s been found not guilty on all charges and they attacked Mumford,” defendant Shawna Cox said.

At that point, several marshals tackled Mumford, stunned him with a Taser and took him into custody.
“I just turned to [the marshals] and said show me what papers you have. Then, the next thing I know they surrounded me, took ahold of me, and they were talking about I was resisting arrest,” Mumford said. “They twisted my legs, put me to the ground, then tased me.”
“There was like eight of them on him and they tased him,” Cox said. “It’s unreal. How can they do that? This is not justice.”
Mumford was released from custody about two hours later.
Ammon Bundy and his brother, Ryan, will remain in custody because they are still facing charges in Nevada stemming from a high-profile 2014 standoff with federal agents trying to round up their father Cliven Bundy’s cattle.
They didn’t murder him for ‘nothing’. They murdered him to make a point.

In other words they did possess firearms in a federal facility and conspired to impede federal workers from their jobs. Jury nullification.
Of course those charges were kind of lame-sounding after such a major event.

My guess that ultimately vigilantism will return to our country. This is why there’s this constant push to disarm everyone.

By the way, Judge Anna J. Brown, was a Clinton Appointee...
If the jury saw that then will never have any doubts about weather they did the right thing.
